Turning Engineering Dreams into Global Careers: Alumni Interaction at MVGR

MVGR College of Engineering (A) organised an inspiring interaction session for third-year B.Tech students on 23-Dec-2025, addressed by its distinguished alumnus Mr Karthik Basava, Director and Global Head of the ServiceNow Practice at UST.
An alumnus of the ECE 2010 batch, Mr. Basava shared his remarkable professional journey, tracing his path from being an engineering student at MVGR to becoming a global technology and business leader based in Irvine, California, USA. Speaking in a simple and relatable manner, he emphasised the importance of strong engineering fundamentals, continuous learning, adaptability, and perseverance in achieving long-term career success.
Mr. Basava highlighted how higher education, including an MBA from IIM Indore and a Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Laws from NALSAR, played a crucial role in shaping his multidisciplinary perspective and leadership capabilities. He encouraged students to complement technical expertise with management skills and interdisciplinary knowledge to remain competitive in the rapidly evolving global technology landscape.
The session proved highly beneficial for students, offering valuable clarity on career planning and professional growth. Students were motivated to set clear goals, consistently upgrade their skills, and prepare themselves for global opportunities in the technology industry.
