MVGR Hosts AICTE Distinguished Professional Scheme Interaction Program

Vizianagaram, February 14, 2025 – The MVGR College of Engineering (A) successfully hosted the AICTE Distinguished Professional Scheme Interaction Program at the Central Library Auditorium. This interactive session provided a valuable platform for faculty members and students to explore funding opportunities for extramural R&D and internship and capacity-building initiatives in premier institutions.

The esteemed speaker for the event, Prof. D. Radha Prasada Raju, an AICTE Distinguished Professional, is a former scientist at the Department of Science & Technology (DST) and an R&D Advisor/Visiting Professor to premier institutions such as IIT Madras, IIT Tirupati, and IIT Hyderabad. Recognizing his exceptional contributions to academia and research, AICTE has appointed Prof. D. Radha Prasada Raju as one of the 25 Distinguished Professionals in India. His association with various IITs and premier research institutions underscores his expertise and dedication to advancing higher education. In his welcome remarks, Prof. R. Ramesh, Principal of MVGR, expressed his gratitude for Prof. Raju’s longstanding association with the institution. He acknowledged the professor's unwavering support and guidance to faculty and students and highlighted the significance of such interactions in fostering research excellence.

During the session, faculty members explored strategies for securing extramural research funding, while students learned about internship and capacity-building opportunities at leading institutions. The session focused on equipping participants with key strategies for academic and research advancement. The speaker discussed various funding opportunities for R&D and key initiatives from the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), the Department of Science and Technology (DST), the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), and Women Scientist Programs, along with funding options from agencies such as DAE, AYUSH, DRDO, MEITY, and others.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. M. Siva Subrahmanyam, Coordinator, R&D, MVGR, who expressed appreciation for Prof. Raju’s invaluable insights. He also extended gratitude to AICTE for its continued support in fostering research innovation and academic excellence.
