Dr. D. Venkata Padma is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering, with nearly two decades of professional experience in teaching, research, academic administration, and institutional activities. She holds a Ph.D. and M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from Andhra University and a B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from GMR Institute of Technology.

Her scholarly contributions include 46 research publications, 50+ national and international conference papers/presentations, and four international book chapters. Her research and academic contributions extend to research projects, patents, student research activities, technical publications, curriculum development, and innovative academic initiatives. She has been recognized with the Best Paper Award at CHEMCON-2022 and the Mrs. Chinnamaul Memorial Prize for Best Technical Paper at CHEMCON-2023.

As Head of the Department, she focuses on academic excellence, student development, research, innovation, sustainability, industry-oriented education, and emerging digital technologies, with the aim of preparing students to become competent, responsible, and industry-ready Chemical Engineering professionals.

Her academic and research interests span Environmental and Sustainable Chemical Engineering, Adsorption and Biosorption, Wastewater Treatment, Process Simulation and Optimization, Energy and Sustainable Processes, and computational approaches to Chemical Engineering. She has also pursued research in emerging areas of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning-based modelling, data-driven process optimization, and their applications in chemical and environmental systems. She possesses expertise in Aspen Plus process simulation, modelling, and optimization.
