The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of MVGR College of Engineering, in association with Maxivision Eye Super Speciality Hospitals, Vizianagaram, successfully organized an Eye Check-Up Camp on 21st February 2026 at the college campus. The camp was conducted with the objective of promoting awareness about eye health and providing accessible vision screening services to the MVGR community.

The initiative witnessed an enthusiastic response, with a total of 130 participants, including 110 staff members and 20 students, benefiting from the free eye screening. The expert medical team carried out comprehensive eye examinations using advanced diagnostic techniques. The services offered included computerized eye examination (Auto Refraction), subjective refraction, professional eye care counseling, and distribution of free family consultation coupons for further evaluation and treatment.

The ophthalmic specialists also provided valuable guidance on preventive eye care, early identification of vision-related issues, and necessary follow-up measures. The camp played a significant role in educating participants on maintaining good eye health, especially in the context of increased digital device usage.

The program was efficiently coordinated by NSS Programme Officer N. Shanmukha Rao, along with the dedicated support of NSS volunteers, whose committed efforts ensured the smooth and successful execution of the camp.

The event concluded on a positive note, reflecting NSS–MVGR’s continued commitment to community service, health awareness, and the well-being of society. Such initiatives further strengthen the institution’s role as a socially responsible organization serving the community of Vizianagaram.
