MVGR College Organizes National-Level Workshop on Financial Education for Young Citizens

The Department of Management Studies, MVGR College of Engineering (Autonomous), successfully organized a one-day workshop on ā€œFinancial Education for Young Citizensā€ on August 30, 2025. The initiative was held in association with the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) and Kotak Securities under their CSR program Kona Kona Shiksha.

The workshop was conducted by Dr. M. Sreenivas (Srinu Madem), an experienced financial education resource person who has delivered over 700 workshops across the country. With 17 years of teaching experience in MBA and expertise in derivatives research, Dr. Sreenivas engaged the participants through eight interactive sessions. Topics included the importance of investment, opportunities in financial markets, investing in primary and secondary markets, mutual funds, safe investing practices, and career opportunities in the securities market.

To assess learning outcomes, a pre-test (August 29) and post-test (August 30) were conducted. Eight students excelled with a 100% score in both and were felicitated with gifts by the resource person. The program saw enthusiastic participation from 85 finance students, all of whom will receive participation certificates from NISM.

Speaker Profile: Dr. M. Sreenivas

Dr. M. Sreenivas is a renowned public speaker and financial education resource person with over 12 years of service to the nation in spreading financial literacy. His credentials include MBA, M.Phil., and Ph.D. in finance, along with certifications such as UGC-NET and SEBI-Research Analyst. He has published 16 international research papers and currently serves as a resource person for multiple prestigious organizations including SEBI, NISM, ICAI, IICA, PFRDA, and NCFE.

The workshop was a significant step in empowering young finance students with practical knowledge and insights into the world of investments, aligning with MVGR Collegeā€™s commitment to holistic and industry-oriented education.
