Guest Lecture on Wi-Fi Standards and Future Wireless Technologies at MVGR

The Software Development Tools and Training Team at MVGR College of Engineering, in collaboration with Candela Technologies, Vizag, successfully organized a Guest Lecture on the topic “Wi-Fi Technology Evolution and the Relevance to Hands-on Communications, Networking, and EdgeAI Topics” on 21st August.
The session featured Dr. Srikanth Subramanian, Chief Knowledge Officer at Nanocell Networks and Young Scientist Awardee from the Government of India, as the resource person. Addressing students from CSE allied branches and faculty members, Dr. Srikanth shared valuable insights on the evolution of Wi-Fi standards, their applications in daily life, and their role in future networking trends.
The lecture included live demonstrations on various Wi-Fi standards and performance metrics for both wired and wireless networks. Dr. Srikanth highlighted the importance of IoT in next-generation networks and explained how future wireless technologies will transform communication systems.
The session was highly engaging as Dr. Srikanth encouraged questions and cleared doubts on security challenges in wireless networks, inspiring students to explore advanced topics in networking and Edge AI.
Representatives from Candela Technologies, Mr. Rudra and Ms. U.S.L. Sahithi, emphasized the need for practical exposure to tools used for network analysis and security, motivating students to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony, where Principal Prof. Y.M.C. Sekhar and Dean – Training & Placements, Prof. M. Sunil Prakash, honored the guest speaker. Faculty members of CSE allied branches also participated in the session, making it a highly successful and impactful event.
