MVGR College of Engineering and BSNL Forge Strategic Partnership for Skill Development

Vizianagaram, January 28, 2025—In a significant step toward enhancing technical and management education, MVGR College of Engineering (Autonomous) has entered into a formal agreement with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL). The partnership was officially sealed at MVGR, with Prof. R. Ramesh - Principal of MVGR and Sri. Satya Prasad - Deputy General Manager of BSNL Visakhapatnam Telecom District representing their respective institutions.

The MoU was formally exchanged at MVGR by Prof. P.S. Sitharama Raju, Director of MVGR, and Sri. Satya Prasad, Deputy General Manager of BSNL Visakhapatnam Telecom District.

The collaboration aims to provide students with competency-based employability enhancement skills through hands-on training in technical and management courses. This initiative is designed to equip students with practical knowledge and industry-relevant skills, preparing them for dynamic roles in the telecommunications and management sectors.

Key Objectives and Terms of the Agreement:

  1. Skill Training Programs: BSNL’s Training Center at Visakhapatnam will act as the designated training provider, offering hands-on training in telecommunications and management-related areas. The programs will include structured academic content delivered online, supplemented by practical field training.
  2. Training Schedule and Modules: BSNL will announce and schedule training modules for the academic year, register students, conduct evaluations, and award grades upon successful completion of the modules.
  3. Customized Academic Framework: The training will focus on practical sessions supplemented by academic content. Programs will be divided into various modules spanning multiple semesters for B.Tech and M.Tech students specializing in ECE, IT, and Computer Science, as well as management courses such as HRM, BBA, and MBA.
  4. Internships and Project Work: Comprehensive internship programs ranging from two to six weeks will expose students to real-world telecom operations, including field visits and theory sessions.
  5. Certification and Credits: Students who successfully complete the programs will be awarded credits and BSNL certification, further enhancing their employability.
  6. Faculty Collaboration: MVGR faculty will contribute by framing on-campus courses and modifying internship curricula to align with industry requirements.
  7. Flexible Training and Data Analytics: BSNL will offer flexible training schedules in consultation with MVGR. The training center will also provide data for MVGR’s analytics initiatives, enabling insights into market trends and telecom technologies.

Training Pedagogy and Modules:

  • Practical sessions will expose students to various telecom equipment operations.
  • Academic content will cover operational procedures and telecom technologies.
  • Training will be divided into comprehensive modules, internships, and online certificate programs, offering a blend of theory and practical exposure.

Prof. R.
